University of the Pacific’s Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Science’s held its 20th annual health fair for area fifth graders on Friday. Nearly 200 kids from the Lodi Unified School district spent a few hours at the school learning about health hazards in the home (poison and allergans), the benefits of exercise and proper eating, how to avoid germs, and how a heart works. The kids were able to look inside actual sheep hearts and it was explained how those hearts are similar to human hearts. The kids also were treated to a fair where they played games that had health-related themes.
